IT Operations Security Analyst

This is an important role critical to the operation of the business in ensuring the security and integrity of all business systems for colleagues, partners and customers. The role will work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure compliance with accreditations such as ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, IASME and required Data and GDPR Commitments.

Responsibilities

 Core responsibilities

  • Triage, Respond, Escalate and Co-ordinate security events and incidents.

  • Triage and Co-ordinate any discovered vulnerabilities and their remediations

  • Threat identification, attack vector analysis and containment strategy.

  • Work closely with Infrastructure Architect to ensure security posture of the Peppermint Business as a whole.

  • Assist in maintenance of our ISO and CE Certifications.

  • Work with Internal Support Team to ensure security posture of Internal IT Systems.

  • Undertake cyber security testing and scenario testing, review and maintain business readiness.

  • Undertaking Vulnerability Testing, triage and report any findings.

  • Regular attack simulation testing for the Peppermint Business users.

  • Stay current on IT security trends and news, research security enhancements and make recommendations where appropriate.

  • Implement new or upgraded security measures or controls, and document system or process changes.

  • Perform regular audits, attend, and provide input at security reviews


Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Essential  

  • Seeking an early career professional with around 2 years’ working in Security Engineering, Threat Response, Security Operations and/or IT Compliance/Governance

  • Good understanding and knowledge of common industry cyber security frameworks, standard and methodologies, including OWASP, MITRE, NIST.

  • Good understanding and knowledge of ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials +

  • Excellent knowledge of security event logging, detection and response on the Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud Platforms

  • Excellent knowledge of Log Analytics

Technical skills to include:

  • Microsoft Azure / M365 Security and Compliance Toolsets

  • Firewall and IPS / IDS Configuration and Cloud App Security Broker

  • Good knowledge of networking and traffic flow

  • Administration skills in Windows Operating Systems

  • Good knowledge of Infrastructure, Operating System and Application hardening techniques

Desirable 

  • Degree or Masters in IT, IS or Cyber Security OR equivalent is preferred but not essential

  • SC-200 Security Operations Analyst

  • SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator

  • AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • MS-500 M365 Security Administrator Associate

  • ITIL v4
